Changing comic book theme font type and size? Is it possible?

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is a way to change the headline texts font of comic book theme in iMovie. It seems iMovie won't let me. But my native language (Turkish) have some special characters. eg: the lower case "i" is still with a dot in uppercase " İ ". BTW, The theme has motion in itself so I can't put a another text with a suitable font...

Any ideas? Thanks...

MacBook Pro 15, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

short answer: No.

long answer: yes .. Themes in iM09 are made with an Apple-technology called QUARTZ. when you open the iM-package (ctrl-click) and dig deeper into it, you'll find someday these .qtz files. With the Quartz-Composer, part of the DevTools, you are able to modify these.. e.g. changing a font. I did that with by-far less elaborated .qtz items of iM (titles).

a) not trivial task, QC has a very .. 'unique' GUI ..
b) you modify the existing file - which is a violation of the End-User-Licence-Agreement plus ...
c) you 'danger' the whole app ..

or, in short .. No 😉

as Keith already mentioned: the Developer Tools is an optional installation, which is on the Installation Disk any Mac comes with.

HINT!
Do a backup of your main drive! You fumble deep inside a stable app/iMovie. DevTools are no 'beginner'-apps, no command-z, no 'back to original', no support here.

... but no real rocket-science .. 🙂

Thanks for responding to this and to my other post where I vented my frustration of not being able to change the color scheme of the sports theme.

I did see this post before I posted mine, and I saw a few other similar posts. I did find the devtools and quartz-composer - interesting stuff!

My question now is - how do I find the .qtz files related to the sports theme? I looked under application support for the IMovie folder (as someone in another post suggested to do for iMovie 09) - BUT there isn't one for iMovie 11!!! or am I blind?

I also tried doing a search, came across a whole bunch of .qtz files, but short of going through every single file, and even then not knowing if I'd have the right ones, I am at a loss.

Thanks for the advice to backup my hard drive first. I will do that before delving into this, for sure.

I am really surprise there is no third party plugin for additional theme choices. and disappointed 😟 There is only so many times one can use a theme...

Jacqui.

such components are INSIDE the app ..
crtl-click/'right click' on iMovie, Show Package, folder Resources ... but no further advices here for 'illegal' activities ... 😉
