Last night it first started with my credit card being declined for payment on an App purchase. I have been using that card on Itunes for months without a problem. Then tonight I can't sign into Itunes at all. I either get "connection timed out" or that my account doesnt exist or my password is wrong. I have changed my password but still cant login.

Windows 7

Same here. I tried signing in to iTunes store but it keep showing me that connection timed out and sometimes even wrong password or apple ID. Cannot connect even with iPhone 4. Anyone has any idea to solve it?

    Flush DNS Setting in Windows
In some cases, the DNS information you computer uses to connect to the Internet needs to be reset. Follow these instructions to flush your Windows DNS information:

    Windows XP
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open field type cmd and click OK.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Try this - it has worked for me.

    Windows Vista and Windows 7
On the Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator from the shortcut menu. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Note: If, in the command prompt, you see this message: "The requested operation requires elevation", close the command prompt and repeat steps 1 and 2 above to be sure that Administrator privileges are used to access to Command Prompt.

Was having the same problem with my Macbook Pro and iPhone 3gs. Could not login/download app updates etc. despite having the same account for several years.
    Here's what worked for me......
Go to the apple store (not iTunes store) and log in to your account as normal.
    Click on change account information.
Change the email address to a different valid email address and click continue.
Click on change account information again.
Change the email address back to the original email address and click continue.
Hopefully, if you now try logging in to your iTunes account, all should be fine and dandy!!!

I hope this helps with Windows too

I forgot to mention its the same for accessing the App store on my Ipad. So its not an issue with my laptop or the Itunes installation. Its obviously an issue with my account. Since my post I am now able to sign in, however my credit card is still being declined. Why don't Apple send an email when there is issue with freezing my account for what ever reason?

Same problem in Korea, and no help at all. I have several Soldiers who have this problem with their iPhones and iPods. Not getting any help for Apple, and telling all the military here to not get Apple in Korea. Credit cards declined with no reason, messages saying the account has been compromised.....gonna wait until I get abck to the states and buy and Samsung Galaxy Tab!
