Downloaded iTunes 10 - Will not open

Hello everyone - This is my first time posting here, but I am at an impass and need some help.
I upgraded to itunes 10 and now it will not open. I have removed all other itunes files and quick time and loaded it again, still nothing. I have done all of the suggested fixes for this, and it still will not work. I tried loading itunes 9.2 and it will not work because it says that the library was created using a newer version of itunes. So, I removed everything and tried to load itunes 10 again, same deal. It loads fine, but when you click on the icon on the desktop, nothing happens. I called microsoft and they said that they suggest oly using upto iTunes 7.6! What should I do now??? -Harry

Ditto. Upgraded to 10, and it crashes on opening. Uninstalled, installed clean copy of 10, crashes. Uninstalled, backed up & removed all media & folders, re-installed, crashes. Uninstalled, removed all folders, installed 9, crashes.
It would be appreciated if Apple would even acknowledge there was a problem, even better if they could fix it.

Ugh...I called APPLE yesterday. All I got was a $69.99 charge for iCare tech service plan because I couldn't get any information from anyone unless I have paid for tech support & was instructed step by step to uninstall iTunes10 and then redownload it. SAME THING...cannot open iTunes at all still!!! Now I get to spend more of my valuable time to call Apple tech support again to see what the next step I'll be given to attempt.

Please HELP APPLE... 😟

Itunes 10 doesn't come up when started on my Vista system. It is listed in the TaskManager list as running.

So I start it, go to Control Panel, then to Programs and Features, click on Bonjour (under program names), then click on Repair and Itunes comes up and works correctly.

????? Have no idea why this works. Maybe a bug in the interface between Itunes and Bonjour.

Ditto, I have did exactly the same as Harry R with the exact same results. By now Apple must know through these forums that there is a problem with Itunes 10. My question now is why are they not addressing this by responding to the people who have invested hundreds of dollars in there products. Seems to me that are creating a big PR issue in addition to losing loyal customers. Future HTC Customer.
