P2CMS

I'm currently using Panasonic P2CMS to store my P2 MXF files, Unfortunately its pretty basic and over the years hasn't been upgraded. Loads of weird Japanese speak and workflow annoyances etc.

What is everyone else using? Cost is a bit of an issue here! Is there an Apple solution?
cheers

I hate P2CMS with a passion. At MOST I use it to view the media, so I don't have to use my edit system to look at the files (Avid and FCP). And how it places every clip into the full P2 card structure I find REALLY annoying.

I use ShotPut Pro from www.imagineproducts.com. This is a FIELD BACKUP solution, meaning you use this to offload the cards. It does a file verification to make sure nothing is skipped. Then I take those field drives, copy those to my ARCHIVE drives, which are bare SATA drives that I use in an eSATA drive dock. I store the full backups on that drive. And I maintain a list of my footage in Excel. But I guess I should get FileMaker Pro.

I use this workflow: Tapeless Workflow for FCP 7 Tutorial
