Not exactly but you can press the Edit button at the top right and individually select all the emails to delete at one time. You can also access them from a computer and delete them all from there.
As an iPhone user of three days, this is a disappointment... I too want to be able to do a simple "select all" to delete all emails in my iPhone inbox. Selecting each email individually under "Edit" is a pain - 100 individual selections every day - no thank you! How do I tell Apple that this is a feature for the next iOS upgrade?

From my experience, the answer is yes. If you delete a message from your iphone, the message gets deleted from Hotmail inbox. Does anyone know how I can change this setting so that I can delete messages from my iphone but have them remain in my inbox on my computer?
It depends on how you access the Hotmail account on your iPhone.
If you access the account as a POP account, deleting a message with the iPhone has no effect on messages stored on the server unless you have the option to remove messages from the server when a message is removed from the account's Inbox mailbox.
If you access the account as an Exchange account, deleting a message from the account's Inbox mailbox also deletes the message on the server.
I was doing it via the Exchange server setting that I setup my hotmail account with when I got my iphone last month. I chose to do it this way because I did not know of any other way to set up mail on my iphone. Is there another apple sanctioned way to set up my iphone to send/receive mail via my hotmail account? You mentioned the POP method?
One of the email accounts on my iPhone4 is a work email account through Microsoft Exchange. How can I prevent an email from being deleted from my work email when I delete it off of my phone? I'd like for it to remain on my work email's server but not my phone.
You can't - not with an Exchange account or with an IMAP account. All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange account and with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server.
I am having some of the same problems.
I have my 3 hotmail/live accounts setup thru the POP3 method yet it does not delete the msgs from the server when I delete them off my phone and I only have 2 folders, Inbox and Trash.
I created an exchange account for one of them but it only recieved the newest msgs, I want my whole inbox/account like it did with my Gmail account.
In common with others who have posted here, I find that I have set up via Exchange and IMAP, so that the thousands of emails on my home computer are all duplicated on my iPhone4. So be it.
In which case the second part of mathieuvp's question becomes important: Does the iPhone use a lot of storage for emails?
Apart from undoing the original setup (which I don't know how to do) is there another way around this difficulty?
