How Do I Turn On Silent without Switch?
How can I turn my phone onto silent mode without using the switch on the side of the phone?

Even with a broken switch, the end of a paperclip should allow you to switch between silent/ring.

Yeah, I don't really want to have to do that everytime :/ Are there any other ways?
The switch is broken and the Genius Bar is not being helpful...I don't really want to go into details, but just assume the switch is not an option.

When I switch to silent the phone vibrates spontaneously and turns back to ring even though it's in the silent position. There's no silent setting on the phone that I can use? Or maybe an App?
You could go into Settings>Sounds and turn everything off & the volume all the way down, but why? That's what the ring/silent switch is for.

An app wouldn't have access to the API's necessary to do what you want.

No and no. Only the switch and the settings.
My silent switch broke and I use the tip of a paper clip to switch. If I don't switch all the way, it will slid back to ring.
