Turned off and wont turn back on

I just bought the new iPod touch only 2 days ago and then this morning it randomly shut off and wont turn on even if i plug it in to the computer. Any one have this problem or any suggestions on what to do?

Does the iPod appear in iTunes? If so, then restore the iPod.

I'm having this same problem too. My ipod touch (2nd Gen.) Was sitting on my bed this morning and died. But when I went to charge it, it wouldn't turn back on. I think it may be that the charging port is all dirty and not able to make the connections, but I tried cleaning it and it hasn't done anything yet.

I'm haveing the same problem.. looking here for answers. I can't get my 8GB brand new itouch with camera to do anything, won't charge or turn on.... HELP!

i have the same problem, but at least i know a way to turn it back on

U huv to press the power button and the home button together until the apple logo comes up. Sometime it take 40sec so wait patiently.

But the problem still happens to me everyday so it is very annoy.

Me too. I bought my ipod from the Apple store at Bellevue Square in Washington yesterday. Today, it randomly turned off and will not turn back on (the battery is not dead either). I held the power button + home button for a few seconds and it turned back on but I don't care if it came back on, It wasn't supposed to turn off randomly in the first place so I am taking it back tomorrow to see what they say.

Thankyou! holy crap i thought i had to send my ipod touch into apple and get it fixed. this is like the 4th day i have had this and it randomly dies....now i regret buying this! but still, i like real racing and i rock at it! i recommend getting real racing its worth it! and actually read Jonnoionoj because it was REALLY REALLY helpful.! 100 stars!

Mine does not appear in ITunes just that it does not recognize the usb device

I had the same problem and found the solution somewhere on this Forum. Press and Hold the "Home" and "Power" Buttons together for a while, then release when Apple's Logo appears... and you're there! Good Luck!

it happened to my when i was on instagram it just randomly locked itself and then never turned back on. I've had my ipod touch for nearly 5 years now so i was devestaed to think that it was finally dead. I did what you guys have posted and held the menu and lock button for about 30 seconds and it turned back on 🙂
