Q: iTunes and Safari updates break existing shortcuts
Ok as my last post on this was deleted. Let's try again.
Every time iTunes or Safari updates on Windows the shortcuts break if you have moved them off the desktop. For example if you've moved the shortcuts from the desktop to the Quicklaunch bar then every time the software updates you have to delete the old and now broken shortcuts from the quicklaunch bar and move the new ones from the desktop to the quicklaunch bar manually. This is a complete pain in the neck.
Apple software is the only software I have come across in many years of PC usage that behaves in this way. Even the smallest developers have got their heads around the installation process and offer options for the standard places where you might want to put your shortcuts (Desktop, Quicklaunch, Start menu).
This issue has been around for years and has been reported as a problem by many others. Why can't Apple get this right?
Please don't delete this again. Please provide us with an answer as to why you can't or won't fix this.
