My Macbook is the version Mac OS X v10.4.11, and I just bought a 32G iPhone 4 today, but when I connect it to my Macbook, it says it has to work on Mac OS X v10.5.8 or higher version, which I don't have. If I can't connect the iPhone with my Mac, the iPhone turns out to be useless! So what can I do, for sure I can't afford a new Macbook anyhow! Someone please help me out!
You don't have to purchase a new MacBook, but you need 10.5.8 or later installed on your MacBook in order to sync your iPhone 4 with iTunes on your MacBook.
You can go straight to Snow Leopard - 10.6.x which you can purchase for $29 at an Apple store or anywhere else where Apple software is sold.
Oh, thx a lot! that's gorgeous! But after I purchase it, when I upgrade my system to 10.6, is it gonna restore my system? cuz I got so many things in my system, don't wanna lose any of them.
perfect! and there are two packages, one is the Mac Box Set which is $169, the other one is Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard which is $29. Which one should I purchase? hope not the Box Set, it's way to expensive, hope $29 one is good enough.
I would suggest researching the requirements prior to purchasing a new product.
As per Apple's website:
Mac system requirements
* Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
* Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
* iTunes 9.2 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
* iTunes Store account
* Internet access
I would suggest you purchase 10.6 or 10.5 from like amazon or something.
