iTunes 10.0.1.: Old Shortcut »Reveal in Finder« doesn’t work

you can right-click (or ctrl-click) on a file and choose +show in finder+ from the pop-up menu.

I just tried everything and i finally found a solution:


How To:

Systempref. --> Keybord --> Shortcuts --> Shortcuts for Appl.

Create new Shortcuts for iTunes:

Refresh Page = Shift + Cmd + R
Reload = Shift + Cmd + R
Reveal in Finder = Cmd + R

Works immediately !!!

This method doesn't work for me when I want to change "Cmd + R" to toggle shuffle. :<

Really Apple? Refresh page? Reload? Let the users prioritize their keyboard shortcuts!!

*Note: Meant to have typed ' "Cmd + Alt + R" for me, while I'll be missing....'


Apparently forums disallow " as the first characters on a new line.

I'm afraid I couldn't override the shortcut using System Preferences either, even though it showed the correct shortcuts in the menus. It seems that Cmd+R is tied to refreshing the iTunes Store window, whatever you do in System Preferences.

The only way I could get round this problem was to use a shortcuts utility, in my case 'Spark' by Shadow Lab, which forces the shortcuts you want onto the application, even though the original shortcuts are shown in the iTunes menus.

Wth this is so annoying! Why would apple change something like this all of sudden? Seems like they're managing to make iTunes worse with every update. *****!

Indeed, I wonder why they did it. I think more people are used to de cmd-R feature in every application, then an awesome 'refresh' shortcut for iTunes DJ. Really, who thought of this?

Love that the help file still says CMD + R is reveal. Apple #fail.
