using ipod touch 4g with Bose and Sony speaker system

I'm having the same problem. I connect my new iPod to my Bose sound system and it doesn't seem to be connecting at all. My Bose speaker is only a year old and I bought it specifically to listen to music on my iPod. Apple, any fixes on this?

That's exactly what I came on for, and I am really upset by this. I just bought a Sony boombox and I have a Sony home theatre also and neither one works. I am seriously considering selling the touch and going back to the just plain video ipod.

Same problem here!im more upset because i bougth my ipod touch 4g in miami and im from Peru so i have to travel again there to set the claim.
dont know what to do.

Same problem with my year old Sony alarm clock. There is definitely a difference between the old iPod touch connection and the new one. I sure hope Apple has some way to adapt to this because there are hundreds of different products that use the old standard connection.

I have both an iPod touch 4 and an iPhone 4 and both connect to my Bose Portable SoundDock and my B&W Zeppelin. The Bose took a bit of an effort to line up but it was ok.

i have bose sounddock and 64gb touch. It does play but the fit onto the sounddock is tight. I waggled mine a bit when it was sitting in the cradle of the soundock and then it worked. Had apple made the edges of the ipod straight instead of (unnecessarily ) bevelled it would have been easier to fit

I am suffering from exactly the same problem. I spent a lot of money on a Bose Sounddock series II to accompny my new iPod touch 64gb 4th gen that I was getting for christmas I then try to play music through it it won't recognise the iPod. Sure it will charge but just won't play music. I then tried out my old iPod touch 32gb 2nd gen and everything was fine.

So I went and read the small print from Bose - any Bose speakers that plug into the wall are NOT compatible with the iPod touch 4th gen. This made me angry for I was misled by the sales staff and apple that the sound system and my iPod would work together and I forked out a lot of money to have the two only to find that the speaker is rendered useless....

You need to take your Bose back to the Apple Store, print out or bookmark what Bose said, and get your money back then buy something that will work with your Touch. Take your Touch with you, with a favorite piece(s) of music to try out what they have and see which one you prefer.

I am having the exct same problem. Onlly had my Bose soundddock for one year. Got the 4th gen itouch and it does not fit. Wonder if they changed something. I can get it to go on, but it is a hard fit and I am afraid I am going to break something. Let me know if you get an answer,

I, too, bought an iPod touch 4G & so far it has worked beautifully. However, 2 weeks ago I bought the Bose portable sounddock system to play my music I have on the iPod. I discovered that no matter how much I wiggled the iPod, after I docked it with the Bose, it would not play. I tried removing it & putting it back on & that did'nt work either. Tonite I read a blog from a customer like me & they ordered a dock Stubz from a outfit called "cablejive.com". The company claims that this dockStubz works with ANY ipod or iphone. It seemed to work for that person, so, I ordered one & Ihope, when it arrives, that it will solve my problem. To date, Bose has not answered the 2 e-mails I sent them.

I had this problem too, tried everything but I finally got it to work.

Try plugging it in to the wall (I know this defeats the object of portable!) - this got it to work with one speaker only. I then turned ON flight mode, which turns off all external interference I believe - and it worked just fine.

Still don't like the tight fit though.
