I have Tried two different Bluetooth headsets with my iPad.
The Rocketfish RF-BTHP02 - http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/products/mobile-phones-gps/RF-BTHP02.html
and the Motorola S305 - http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/MobilePhoneAccessories/Headsets/Bluetooth-Stereo-Music-Headphones/MOTOROKR-S305-Wireless-St ereo-Headphones-US-EN

When I first got the Rocketfish they were great and the Audio Quality is still great and I use to be able to walk around my apartment with no issues. I could even leave miPady iPad in the car and walk about 25 ft away and still have uninterrupted audio.

Recently I can't get more than a few feet from my iPad and if I am walking around carrying the, the audio will dropout for a half second which you might guess in annoying.
Having read a review of someone having the same issue with the BTHP02's and I thought the problem was the Headset.

To that end I purchased the Motorola S305 at the Apple Store here in Seattle.
Two everything was fine until I started walking around and the same issue occurred, Audio dropout.

The Audio quality of both headsets is excellent. For me the S305's are not as comfortable as the BTHP02's but they did not resolve the issue with the Audio Dropout.

Has anyone had this issue?

I too am having occassional dropouts. It's random though. I always get good range. I can walk over 30 feet away at home or at work. Sometimes though, I get drop outs with my iPod Touch beside me or in my pocket. Very annoying. Unfortunately, it's hard to point the finger at Apple or Rocketfish alone.

Third generation Touch, 4.2 software, RF-BTHP02 Rocketfish headset.
