I have a folder called Private Frameworks in my System Library files. I don't know what it does or why it's there, but I noticed that it has several frameworks that Apple Developer says are outdated and superseded by new system, such as Open Transport Framework, URLAccess Framework, Open Directory Configuration. If these are superseded why are they loaded on with Snow Leopard?
They're probably there for compatibility reasons. For instance if you are using an application from 10.5 that still uses DirectoryServices it will still need to reference the DirectoryServices framework
Sorry I wasn't implying that I just used the name of the framework I happened to be looking at in PrivateFrameworks, I realize that was probably misleading. The point I was trying to make was if there are outdated frameworks in there it is for compatibility reasons
Interestingly, everyone in my PrivateFrameworks folder has a 2010 date. Additionally, if, as you say, one's there for compatibility reasons, then it's not outdated, which was my point. OS X 10.6.4 & Xcode Tools 3.2.4 installed.
