Retrieve Recent Calls during an active call

How can I retrieve my recent call list, while I am on an active call. I change to iPhone from my HTC Hero & cannot believe that with EVERYTHING that this phone can do, Apple has overlooked that basic feature. Thanks for the help.

Place your call on Speaker, then tap the "Add Call" button on the keypad. This will bring up your contacts and you can tap the button for recents from that page. Tap the green bar at the top to return.
