Quicktime inst error searching for old drive

Please help,

I am using win xp, trying to re-install itunes/qt 10, after replacing bad hard-drive. My old hard drive had 4 partitions on it d,e,f and g. I originally installed itunes/qt on drive g. My new drive only has one partition drive d. I have removed all apple installations including bonjour using windows installion cleanup utility, etc. I have cleaned up the registry. I tried to install qt as a stand alone and itunes/qt setup. For some reason both installations stall because "drive g is an invalid location" and does not complete. Is there a way to trick the installation to choose a valid location? or a work around?

🙂 Excellent news, xo.

In QuickTime install contexts, messages mentioning the \lib\ directories can be associated with trouble with your Java runtime on the PC. (There's a QTJava.zip file that the QuickTime installers and existing .msi databases can look for in your Java program files, and that \lib\ folder is in the Java program files.) So it might be worth also checking to see if your Java runtime is currently up to date. (Updating the Java on the PC often gets people past \lib\ errors.)
