In fact, my search didn't show anything that is not listed in the AppStore. You can watch there for addition of new apps that may do what you want.
i kinda doubt there would be anything out there like this but i thought skype would be all over this and introducing a way to skype from ipod to computer.
Skype already has an App for iPod. You can keep an eye on Skype development of video and other features either from the AppStore,
Skype's App page, or the
Skype's iPhone forum.
and it seems like the only app that can be used with this camera is facetime. which is useless unless you know someone else with the ipod or iphone 4.
Not true. Even if you do not want to use your camera, it is not useless for many of us.
iPod touch comes with the
Camera app that uses the camera to capture still images and video clips.
Other apps that can use the camera such as
IncrediBooth are available at the AppStore.
