Genius Sidebar(need it back!!!)

I would also like to have my Genius sidebar back. It was most helpful for finding music to download similar to one's tastes. The new Ping bar is useless for me, I will hardly ever use Ping. I am sorry to say but social networking through a computer is not my cup of tea.

What do you guys mean by sidebar?
You can still have Genius show up in the menu.

In the next update (or two) Apple should let us hide Ping.
I almost feel sorry for the team that came up with it.
They're probably sweating serious bricks! :o

The sidebar on the right side of iTunes. Click the arrow/slider button at the lower right of the iTunes window.
10.01 removed the *Genius sidebar* and replaced it with the *Ping sidebar*

Yes, bring back the Genius sidebar! That was the best way for me to find new music...AND PAY FOR IT APPLE! How stupid is that to take way a key way to find new music that we can then purchase through iTunes.

Sorry y'all. Unless we can convince the powers that be that we want the ability to select between either the Genius sidebar or the Ping sidebar, the only way to get the Genius sidebar back is to backrev your iTunes to 10.0. 😟

Here's another vote for getting it back. I'd like to be able to switch between the two.

Ping might be a cool idea but until it really gets up and going and users can get the hang of it, it's a bit dead and useless for discovering new music.

Ping is worthless and a poor "me-too" attempt at social networking. I liked the genius feature but it was irritating to have to wait for iTunes to "update my genius settings" every time I want to use iTunes.

Every time Apple updates something these days, it makes it worse.

Right, the Genius sidebar is gone! Why? It was a much more appreciated feature than the Ping service I don't use (and none of my friends do, because sometimes buying music is a very private task and not everyone has to know what I buy). The Genius bar was cool, enabling me to discover new music (and for Apple to do business).

Not very nice just to change this without asking during installation. I'm very disappointed about that!
Please let me choose what service I want to use...

I agree with the majority here. I have absolutely no interest in sharing my musical tastes via Ping.

The Genius Recommendations sidebar, however, was absolutely the easiest way for Apple to sell more music to me.

I'm going back to the previous version of iTunes until I have an option to choose between the Recommendations sidebar and Pong. Sorry, Ping.

+1 here. I would like to have the option to switch between them at least.

I too am *issed about the change, who wants ping what a farce the genius is just was it says genius why take that away. Big *iss off, sorry but it really bothers me. I hope *'s are allowed here.
