smaller size (50kb) - how to

I need to save a photo from iphoto so I can post it on a forum (for sale) and the pics are only accepted at 50kb or less. How can I save or diminish the size of the phot so it is accepted (currently 900kb).

Thanks Bojulabah

Welcome to Apple Discussions,

_Click on the photo in iPhoto.
_Go to File > Export > File Export
_Set Kind > JPEG
_Set JPEG Quality to Low (smallest size)
_Export the picture to the desktop and then check the size.

If the file size is still not small enough you can change the image size as well.
Repeat the steps above and then change the "Size" to small.
You can tinker with these settings to get a balance between quality and size that is to your liking.

Hope that helps.

Set the format to JPEG, the largest dimension to the largest you want online and then the Quality level (jpeg compression) to the setting that will give you the file size you need.

Or you can drag the photo to the desktop from iPhoto and use Resize!
Resize! to do the same. It has a slider bar for the Quality/Compression level that you can experiment with.
