OK to rename partition (volume)?

Hi

I just want to make sure if it is ok to rename a partition (volume) after it has been formatted and already in use.

thanks

also, if having to word separated by spaces..(e.g) "My Disk" I don't remember exactly where i heard that in terminal it is complicated to have spaces?

In general, yes.

If there is a space in a file path (not just a volume name) used in a Terminal session, it has to be either enclosed in quotes or each space has to be "escaped" with a backslash character.
