Footnotes that renumber each chapter, Page numbers that don't

Hello everyone, anyone. I am a stressed DPhil student trying to fix formatting issues before submission in 3 days 🙂 The issue today is:

My footnotes are numbered continuously from the beginning to the very end of the thesis (1-354). According to my university guidelines they should start at 1 with each new chapter. I figured I would do this by inserting a section break. But when I do that my page numbers at the top of the page start back at 1 as well. Is there any way to have my footnotes renumbering from 1 with each chapter, but keep the page numbers as they are?

Yes. Use the "Document Inspector > Document Tab > Footnotes & Endnotes" option controls ("Use Section Endnotes" and "Restarts for Each Section) to set your endnotes numbering options and the "Layout Inspector > Section Tab > Page Numbers" option controls ("Continue from previous section") to set your page numbering options.
