Copy sparse bundle from old time capsule to new time capsule

My TC died. I got a replacement unit. I was able to get my original TC drive and it is now in a enclosure. I would like to copy the sparsebundle file to my new TC. When I copy the file i get the error...

One or more items can’t be copied to “Data” because you don’t have permission to read them. Do you want to copy the items you are allowed to read?

Can anyone let me know how to get around this?

Here are the basic steps to move a TM backup to the TC:
1. Within Time Machine (TM) preferences select the Time Capsule (TC) as the backup destination, and let the first backup begin.
2. As soon as TM gets past the “Preparing backup” stage and starts copying data, move the switch to Off.
3. Using Finder, navigate to the TC volume. On that volume, you should find a disk image with a name like <Mac-Name>.sparsebundle. Double-click it to mount the disk image on your Desktop.
4. Drag everything on this disk image, which should just be a single folder called Backups.backupdb, to the Trash, and then, empty the Trash.
5. Drag the Backups.backupdb folder from your previous TM backup volume to the disk image where you just deleted the folder in Step 4.
6. Eject the disk image.
7. In the TM preference pane, switch it back On.

TM should now pick up where it left off the last time it backed up to the local drive.

Thanks for your help with this. The original file is a sparsebundle which came from my old time capsule drive which is now in a enclosure. I don't see a backupdb folder - just the sparsebundle folder. When I tried to paste it onto the new time capsule I got the permission error listed on my original post. Do you know what permissions I need to alter?
