Camera shutter issue

I saw some people said they have the same issue that is the shutter closed and cannot make any move.
this issue happened when I trying to switch the back camera to front camera.
So I do not even know if my front camera works

I made an appointment and had my ipod replaced for free.

I also noticed there was slight bit of light leak on the right edge of the front screen. I could almost see between the seam. not sure if this was related or not. It's the area on the opposite side of the volume buttons.

New ipod is working just fine, no light leak on the screen either.

Has anyone gotten an answer from Apple besides having to just return for a new model? I'm having the same problems with mine, although when I do a factory restore the back facing camera (away from me) works just fine. However, when I switch to the front facing camera the image on screen freezes and then I am unable to get any part of the camera to work again.

The only way that I can get anything to work again is to do another factory restore and start the whole process over. It seems interesting to me that it works right up until I switch the camera over.

The first week that I had the iPod everything worked great...then the camera problems started. I must admit that I'm a little frustrated to have to deal with a "broken" iPod after only a week of little use.

Thanks and I hope that someone is figuring something out.

I have the same exact problem. After a few hours of removing my ipod from the package I realized than the camera quality was poor as compared to other ipods of the same model nevertheless took a few pictures and I was successful. After this I tried switching the front view with the rear view and the view of the camera stuck and after a few seconds it returned to normal. A few hours after this every time I started the application the shutter would not open. This greatly infuriated me because this was a brand new ipod. I made several attempts to resolve the problem such as restoring the ipod and turning it off and on but all my attempts were futile.
