Camera shutter issue

I saw some people said they have the same issue that is the shutter closed and cannot make any move.
this issue happened when I trying to switch the back camera to front camera.
So I do not even know if my front camera works

Ridiculous.. bought my 11 yr old daughter one last Xmas --

Used very little and is very well looked after... Camera just stopped working - stuck on shutter closed...(did i tell you it was used very little!!)

You ask me from searching the net this is a VERY COMMON issue..

out of warranty, but far as i can see, its so common apple ough to fix them free (man up and recall the **** thing)

$350.00 = a total waste of money if you ask me.. but apple like most others doesnt care.. all they want is your $$$ - not the company they started out as..

heck, at least every thing on my OLD microsoft OS powered HP device still works..

as well as my ancient palm device...

The end of apple for me - next thing will be android powered --

Apple --> Burn me once... thats all they chance you get!

Its quite obvious as far as i can tell that its DEFECTIVE HARDWARE...

I agree with everything posted above, up to "******"

I don't give Apple a total "pass,' on this complaint because it has been reported by so many others and others like myself have also offered FEEDBACK about it. IMO it's either a bug or possibly some conflict between apps.

But to say Apple doesn't care is wrong. Another prime example of them making improvements for their customers (with no $$ money benefit) is how IOS6 will have SIRI FOR OLDER MODELS, adding a really cool feature for many existing customers, a feature I don't now have but will with IOS6 is released.

I have owned a iPod classic 60gb for almost 4yrs and have never had a issue with it. The reliability of it made the touch 4th Gen seem like a no brainer, but I have had screen issues, internet connectivity issues, and to top it all off the same camera issue everyone else has described. To be fair, the camera problems didn't start till I updated from IOS 4.2 to IOS 5.1.1 and everything I've tried has been in vein. This is little more than a paper weight that plays music. In the future I will not waste money on something so useless and deeply aggravating.

I have the same problem. I don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said. I am only typing something so Apple will see how big this problem really is for their product. They ought to do something about it. My warranty is expired now, and I am stuck with a product that does not work as it should. I've tried just about everything. It seemed to happen when I updated the iOS to 5.1.1. I don't know if there is any link to this. I was going to see if I reverted to an old iOS if that would fix something. Other than that, I have no other ideas. Oh, here's one...go buy an android.

Same problem with the iPodtouch 4G of my friend... He give it to me to correct the issue but no luck!

I have even open it to see if the cable was disconnected or something like that... ( this is not the first time i open those device, this is not a task for a beginer... ) unplug and plug EVERYTHING 4 times... Always the same problem....

Apple should respound to there custommers.. It's the second time i look apple not respounding to us!!! The other one was about the Bluetooth problem on Mac OS about audio stuff like Bluetooth HeadPhone and Microphone!

Sometime i'm shy to say i'm in love with Apple ;-)

Becyork, Welcome to the thread, although I'm sure you'd rather have a fully-working iPhone like everyone else.

I do think it's a bug -- or else there must be some software conflicts. Yet, as all the posts here and on similar threads indicates, the problem has been going on a long time and no fixes from Apple.

I encourage folks to send FEEDBACK, which is different than posting on a forum -- although by now I can't really say that will make much difference either. But it can't hurt and might help.

FEEDBACK is at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and maybe if we all did it, regularily, Apple might get the word that a prime feature of their iPhone is not working for many users, and perhaps a fix is possible.

Some folks have returned their product. If it's still under Apple Care and/or warranty then perhaps that is a good option.
