Channel EQ resets with playback

Ok, so I'm going along, I dial in the sweet spot on a sound, I reposition my playhead and give a listen, sounds the same, OH LOOK! The channel EQ reset again! Why this problem? Why this glitch?

Mac Pro Quad Core, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 4gb RAM
