Newbie: How do I get my domain name onto Iweb

I have a domain name and I want to create a blog with that name. But seems all I can do is use my mobileme name. How do I do this? I assume mobileme is my host so how do I get the blog to be my domain name. In other words, can it be domain name.com? Or only mobileme name? So do I have to use wordpress or something like that so people find me as domain name.com? So if it says mobileme- then why do people sign up? To have a personal website?

I have just published my website using iWeb to MY domain name. Here is how I would do it:

1. Select the site you want to publish in the Site Organiser.
2. In the Site Publishing Settings window, select FTP Server from the Publish to menu.
3. Enter the following:
Site Name
A name for your blog.
Contact email
A contact email address for your blog.
Server address
get this from your server
User name
Your FTP account user name.
Password
Your FTP account password.
Directory/Path
The directory to which you want the files uploaded.
yoursite.com
Protocol
Leave this setting at FTP.
Port
Leave this setting at 21.
URL
Your site's URL (yoursite.com).

4. Click Publish Site from the action bar on the bottom of the iWeb interface.

I hope this works for you.

Log into your MobileMe account under System Preferences and enter your domain name into the Personal Domain name section of your account.

Then go to where you registered your domain name - your domain name registrar and set up CNAME forwarding by going to the DNS settings and forwarding your domain name (your alias) to web.me.com (your host).

When published to MobileMe, your site will then come up when your domain name is entered and not your MobileMe url.

Newbie here too; I just converted my MobilieMe iweb url to my newly purchased domain name web address using Net Solutions. They were helpful and it was relatively easy.

First I read the instructions which incredibly difficult to find but having followed them, my website is up
with its "alias" web address, and is no longer using the web.com from MobileMe.

It's always confusing, but I did find a solution and resolution.

Hope this helps~
