iPod waking me up every morning around 3am

In the middle of the night, every night, my ipod lights up and plays 5 or 6 loud alternating tones. The sound comes out of some internal speaker, because I hear it even when the ipod isn't plugged in to any speakers or headphones.

I've tried doing Settings->Reset All, which didn't change anything. Has anyone seen this problem before?

I have the EXACT same thing. It just started recently, or at least I just started noticing. But I googled the topic and mostly people just say it's the alarm. However, I checked the alarm and although there was a little bell next to the Alarm. The alarm was actually set for 12am but the time zone was set for the west coast which would make it 3 am on the east coast. However, I didn't even know how to get into the alarm clock so obviously have no idea how it got set. But, I will say the alarm was set and the time does make sense. The ipod turned out and even plugged into a set of headphones there is some kind of external speaker that allows the ipod to chime out loud.

Bottom line--check the alarm because it's probably been inadvertently set.
