My Iphone will not turn on and start up. After some casual use this afternoon it will suddenly not get alive again (it's 1 week old). I have tried charging it for at least an hour, and the charger works fine on another Iphone4, but nothing happens. Anybody got any good ideas??

Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-60 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

The iPhone is a very complex computer that's not perfect... they sometimes need to be reset. It's impossible to diagnose your phone in a forum with the info you gave in a single post.

    can anyone from Apple explain...

    Advice given in previous post:
Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-60 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I tried holding the sleep button and home button down for 10 seconds, this did not work. I clicked both at the same time for about three times and the Apple appeared on the screen and my phone is now working without the loss of any data.

You're welcome. No worries on your English... it's better than my 'anything else other than English'.

My piece isn't even 1 month old, and I already experienced the same problem.

Thanks for the solution, it worked.

I am a bit worried now, does this problem keep recurring? Should I take it back to the apple store? Or is it a harmless one-of issue?
