Retina Display Brightness Lifetime

I am wondering if keeping the display turned up higher than the middle or to the highest (100%) will shorten the lifetime of the Retina display?

I understand the technology here is LEDs, and the MTBF for an LED is usually in the thousands of hours, however wondering if this is applicable in the Iphone 4 display, and whether it is recommended to keep the Display brightness setting turned down?

LEDs do have a life expectancy in the thousands+ hours so I wouldn't worry about life expectancy of the screen. But turning up brightness has a tremendous negative impact on the battery. It will suck down your battery pretty fast. That wont hurt your battery but it will shorten the life of it to some degree. But the battery is replaceable. Take three screws out put the new batter in and your good to go.

But as far as your screen, just compare it to someones LED back lite TV. I don't think I have turned mine off for a couple of years - yes I know not very green of me but it is still chugging right along.
