My iPod Touch Won't Turn On?

I've had my iPod Touch for almost two years now, and it's never given me any problems. Today it was acting weird, and now it's refusing to turn on. I plug it into my computer and the apple logo comes up, but then it turns off again, then comes up, turns off, over and over.
I connected it to my iPod Doc, and it started working perfectly. I played my music for 15 minutes or so on that, but once I took it out of the doc it turned off on me again, and it's once again refusing to turn on.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Have you tried resetting it? Hold down the Home and Sleep button at the same time until it reboots and you see the Apple logo.

No matter how long I try holding down on them, it won't reset. :\

Then you will want [to go here|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808] and do a restore.

You could have a battery failing.

I had the same problem after updating from 4.0.? to the next. I received an 'update failed' message and the ipod was dead. After 2 hours on the phone with support attempting to get into recovery mode I was sent to the Apple store. It is believed that there is a conflict with firewall/virus/updating.
