How do I uninstall TuneUp?

I know that but tuneup doesn't install as a normal app. And it would not delete from there.

Neoxne knew exactly what to do. got it right off my computer with no problems, thank you very much.

To uninstall:

Home Folder > Library > Application Support > TuneUp_Support > TuneUp_Uninstaller

Thank you, Mr Lafferty! I had begun to think TuneUp wanted one to have their irritating pop-up in perpetuity. The uninstall option just wouldn't work for me.

But in fact as your email says, they explain perfectly and easily how to do it and I thank you for rescuing me from all those other misleading - and unsuccessful - 'solutions' proposed by others. Hooray!

FWIW, you can set whether or not TuneUp launches with iTunes, and whether or not it "sticks" to iTunes. If you just disable those functions, probably in preferences, TuneUp won't bother you except you need it.

verbcrunch... that's all very well, but for me (registered user) it still launches with iTunes even after I deselect the option to 'Launch Tuneup with your media player". That's just rude.

This app installed on my computer while I was installing something else. Brand new Mac, suddenly, I have a piece of software running that I didn't want? Not cool.

So, I moved the Tune-Up program to the trash from Applications, but when I tried to Empty my Trash, the system (10.7.5) came back with App In Use, can't delete.

I went to Tune-Up's site, as suggested by Patrick, and followed their instructions:

This got rid of all the hidden folders and files, but the App was still running, and Trash wouldn't delete it.

I finally found a solution:

I opened Activity Monitor under the Utilities Folder in Applications, found the Tune-Up processes in the list (there were two running), highlighted them, then click Quit Process.

Once the program was no longer running, Empty Trash was successful in deleting the file.

I have to say that before reading Tomas57 's post, I was seriously stuck. Every time I tried to delete tuneup from my trash, it popped up Application in use, and I couldnt delete it. Then I found this thread and none of the other comments helped me until I read Tomas57 's post. I opened activity moniter, found both tuneup processes and clicked quit process. After multiple times of doing that, it finally actually deleted and is now gone, forevermore! Hallelujah! Thnak you Tomas57! Thank you so much!

Tomas57's post solved it for me. It was a pain. In the activity monitor I had to keep quiting and then quick empty the trash.

When I get to and launch the uninstaller, I get this error msg:

Sorry finder got an error: Can't get application file "TuneUp_UninstallerMain.app" of folder Resources "Contents" of application file "TuneUp.app" of folder "Applications" of startup disk.

Any ideas?

I am trying to uninstall it and keep getting the "In use" message also... I don't know hwat to do
