I can't play a 1998 cd-rom video using Quicktime 7, can I? I tried and fai

failed. The computer put out a message saying Quicktime wasn't installed, when I put in the cd-rom. I had just installed Quicktime 7, latest free version. The instructions with the cd-rom say I need Quicktime 2.1.2, with 16 and 32-bit program. I've never played a cd-rom before. I diut I d download the audio on the cd to itunes, and it plays. But I bought it for the video.

I don't know where I would find the file to be dragged. Nothing appears when I insert the disc into the tray, except a window saying that Quicktime isn't installed, which is not true and never was. Quicktime 7 is there.

The instructions that came with the cd-rom also say to use a file on the disc (to install a QT-16 bit). If I could find any files from this disc, I'd do it.

Part of my problem is I've never played a cd-rom before and I don't know how. if there is a "how" to it, aside from inserting the disc. Actually the label beneath the tray says it's a dvd drive. Maybe I don't have a cd-rom drive. There is another tray above it, which I think is for playing cd's. When I put the cd-rom in the other tray, nothing happens. When I put it in the dvd tray, the computer hums and claims Quicktime isn't installed.

A bit long-winded but does it paint a picture?
