Q: HDMI Handshake problems every 20 - 30 minutes - Color Inversion Issue

Dear all,

I used the old ATV for a long time and never had problems with it. Yesterday my new ATV 2 arrived. The setup was very easy but after a few minutes a problem with HDMI Handshake occurred and repeats at least every 20-30 minutes:

I get a green screen for one or two seconds and then the picture appears again with some kind of inverted colors.

I use a Philips 40 inch 7664 LED LCD with the newest firmware installed.

Any idea what I could to to fix this issue?

I have the same issue with Sony KDL-37S5500.

Wish I saw this thread before buying ATV on the weekend.

Will call apple this evening.

Hi.

I have the same problem with HDMI in Sony KDL-40P3600.

I'm from Spain. AppleStore of here have exposed in a ATV2 with Sony BRAVIA TV also happens the same problem.

Apple TV update to be released today according to Macworld.

6.00pm in the UK.

Fingers crossed this has the necessary "bug fixes"

I hope too, that 4.1 will fix the HDMI Handshake problem.

Update is out!

4.1 downloaded and running from 6.40 gmt. So far so good.

Early day tho, will keep you posted. Happy updating!

Same here, NOT fixed with 4.1.

Maybe if enough of us tweet/email Engadget, Gizmodo, etc it'll get some actual press coverage and get a fix that way

OK... this is driving me crazy.
How is it possible? 30k views, 2k replies to the topic, all these CUSTOMERS reporting such a serious issue and what does Apple do? They have the opportunity to release a fix with iOS 4.1 and the fix is not present.

NOTHING CHANGED WITH 4.1!!!

APPLE WAKE UP!!!

We can't change our Sony/Philips HDtvs if ATV2 doesn't work.

They got our money, now we want solutions. QUICKLY.
