HDMI Handshake problems every 20 - 30 minutes - Color Inversion Issue

Dear all,

I used the old ATV for a long time and never had problems with it. Yesterday my new ATV 2 arrived. The setup was very easy but after a few minutes a problem with HDMI Handshake occurred and repeats at least every 20-30 minutes:

I get a green screen for one or two seconds and then the picture appears again with some kind of inverted colors.

I use a Philips 40 inch 7664 LED LCD with the newest firmware installed.

Any idea what I could to to fix this issue?

Thanks

Dear Apple,
you have a problem with ATV2 connecting via HDMI see thread on your wed site: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2600405&start=0&tstart=15
Please arrange for my ATV2-SN DCYDPN2XDDR5 that was connected to a Philips 42PFL8694H/12 (That can be added to the list below) to be collected and refunded or fix the problem.

I agree with richard2832, so there has "only" been 781 or so posts here but I am sure more people have had problems. Apple's customer service on this issue has been crap to say the least.
You talk about other products this is an apple forum!
Apple TV2 should do what it says on the box, and on the box it does not say its incompatible with some TV's weather its their (Apple's) problem or not, it should say that on the box!
I sent mine back, maybe I'll buy another when the new software version is available for all.

@tgibbs

Wait a minute now you clearly say that its the TV's (Sony & Philips etc) problem and not Apple's, you can't say that so please edit your post or have it removed and stick with the subject of this thread!......or maybe you are a mole and work for Apple!

No you said, "I suppose they could add a disclaimer that reads, "Not guaranteed to be compatible *with TVs that are not working properly.*"

Just imagine if Sony sold Bluray players that did not work with all TV's!! User uploaded file

You actually said "*Not guaranteed to be compatible with TVs that are not working properly."* which implies its the TV's problem. look I agree its an issue with the hdmi handshake, which is what this thread is about, and if Apple wants to keep people happy they need to fix the problem which it looks like they have, I guess because they fixed it they accept that it was their problem!
You don't seem to.

@Aric Friesen
You say you are a registered/paid developer and you ask where to get the beta version! what are they paying you for?! You should know how to get it! Oh and when you have it please send me a copy!........I just sometimes wonder about some of the comments on this thread, do people even read them before they make one?

Same problem with me, too. I use a Sony TV (Bravia KDL 40-BX400). Already tried 3 HDMI cables on all 4 ports - issue remains with each of these combinations. Called the support and they told me to restore the firmware. That didn't fix it either. BTW this is an unknown issue they haven't had (yet). Not very surprising considering the fact that the new ATV came out 3 days ago. So, they told me to contact the online store on Monday for a new device since after all, they now suppose it's a hardware problem with the ATV's HDMI port.
