Audio fades created with fade tool seem to act strangely

Hi

On opening some of my tracks in Logic 8, I found that sometimes the fade-ins over audio regions would not work properly. One of three things would happen:

1) The fade would not act, so I would hear the complete audio region.

2) The fade would not act, nor would I hear any sound from the audio region until a sharp burst of sound where the fade would normally end.

3) The fade may work, but then I would get a sharp burst of sound followed by a blip of sound from an unrelated audio file (aside from it being in the audio files folder).

I expected this bug to be fixed with Logic 9, but it appears I'm wrong; however the issues have not been as severe this time round; just had to remind the fades to WAKE-UP by moving them out of and back into position.

Anyone else experienced this, or am I a lone ranger?

Cheers

Matt

NB. These projects were also ones created with Logic 8; nothing earlier. This may have also happened with fade-outs on audio regions.

Fade files have been known to become corrupt, although I've never experienced anything as severe as you are describing.

But I would suggest this...

Find the fade files for that song (usually located within the fades files folder found within the song folder. If for some reason that folder doesn't exist, look inside your audio files folder for any files ending with a f24)

Throw these files into the trash

Now open the song, and when you hit play, Logic will first recreate the new fade files, then start playing. That should fix any issues...
