Thanks for the detailed instruction to the OP. I'm having similar difficulty and used your instructions. I'm getting a 192.xx so I guess my wireless has sent the proper information to my iPod. I'm seeing network bars but, whenever I'm at home, the iPod won't connect to my network. I've used re-set, renew lease and even restarted my wireless network.  The iPod finds my network okay and shows connection but I can't get Safari or Apps to launch.  Any other suggestions?

Hey guys my first reply, Anyhow i basically had the same problem im using iPod touch 4th Gen , which is jailbroken.... cutting along story short, it was fine yesterday and didnt work today. Reading through this an nothing seemed to work, i tried putting it in Airplane Mode, reseting network connect ,, turning wifi on/off .... anyhow for me it was to simple its laughable, i turned it off for 10 seconds, turned it back on, but becasue of my custom stuff it was resetting everytime it connected to the wifi , so i done a hard reset (not wiping everything just so it so a simple restart).   Straight away it works, just thought id update this just in case someone is having trouble with it like i was

this worked for me. After going to apple and them replacing my phone and a day spent trouble shooting i still had the issue of webppages not loading, my friend told me that it was my router and that i had port forward, go to portforward.com and there are easy steps to follow look up your router, my was dlink, the  TCP codes in entered were for apple remote desktop 3283,5900,5988 ( entered just like that, and theUDP was3283, here the link i used which explains it for dlink http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-615/Apple_Remot e_Desktop.htm , this instantly fixed the issue for my iphone and my ipod hope it works for you:)

I had this problem on and off for over a year on Iphone 4, Iphone 4S and Ipad 3 and finally cracked it. Resetting fixes above works only sometimes and always only for so long. Making sure my router was setup exactly like this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199 fixed it permanently.

My WiFi Router changes that fixed it was:

    1. Set Security to WPA2 Personal (only, no auto modes) and AES only (no other)

    2. 20Mhz channel width only (i.e. disable auto and/or 40Mhz)

There are a couple of more important changes listed in the link above including:

    3. Disable hidden Network

    4. Disable Mac Filtering

    5. Channel in Auto mode

So I'm having this problem with my Ipod 5th gen. I tried absolutely everything but the router suggestions. Mainly because this problem isn't just at home, it's everywhere. I can connect to every free wifi or pass-worded wifi (with the correct password) just fine. But I can't access the internet or apps using the internet at all. Full signal like everyone else. Just no results. Took every tip in this forum and nothing has worked. Even tried deleting the apps that weren't working and re-installing just to make sure it wasn't just a crappy connections with the internet. NOTHING! Someone please help? I'm starting to think it might just be the antenna or the fact that it's about 2 years old and kind of abused. It's been working up until I recovered it after 2 1/2 months of being last in the mix of pants that were packed away. Didn't get washed or anything just had the battery die while it was sitting there. Found it yesterday and starting today I can't access Safari, Youtube, the App Store, or anything else that requires an internet connection. What should I do? Should I take it in to the Apple Store and get it checked out? Or is there something I can do by myself?
