Netflix client "Gay & Lesbian" category not showing up

I just bought a new Apple TV, and it works great (including using my Netflix streaming account in Canada). However, when I go to browse the list of categories within the Netflix client, "Gay & Lesbian" does not appear. If I search for a movie that I know is categorized as Gay and Lesbian by Netflix ("Newcastle", for example), I can get to browsing the G&L category, but it is pretty hidden, and it does not seem to be a complete list when I get to it that way.

Is this a bug or oversight, or is it an attempt to make the Apple TV more "family-friendly"? Does anyone else observe the same behavior? If this is a "family-friendly" "feature", it should at least be configurable.

(And before anyone responds that this is not an issue for Apple support, or that I should be posting this question on a Netflix discussion board, I would like to point out that the Netflix client on the Apple TV comes shipped by Apple, was presumably written by them, and is advertised by them as a feature. When I use other Netflix interfaces, like the iPad app or the web site, the category does show up.)

There are more than one of Netflix's genre categories that have been omitted from Apple TV's menus, compare the list you get on the Apple TV and the available genre filters on the website, Classics, Faith and Spirituality, and Music and Musicals are also missing from the list for example. I think it's more just a case of taking the most viewed genre lists and placing them there for convenience whilst trying to be as minimalist as possible (after all... this is apple haha). When we'd really have a problem is if apple started actively filtering all Gay and Lesbian movies from netflix (which as you've pointed out they don't thankfully).

The same thing happened with the iPad when it came out, so perhaps they will add in all of the missing filters with time?

I seem to have the opposite problem all Netflix will recommend for me are gay and lesbian movies on my Apple TV and iPad it's rather funny and on the website yet I've chosen on Netflix to not show them to me.

Not really Apples problem but weird.

Just off the phone with NetFlix. They are testing the filter feature that deletes these categories and it will be available in the next few weeks they say. This should fix the problem of filtering out genres for people who want to see it and people who don't want to see it.
