Can't sync after computer upgrade

Hi,
Friday night I got a new MacBook pro. Yesterday I used the transfer function to move all of my files from my old MacBook to the new one.
This morning, I can't sync my iPad. My iPod does sync, so it isn't the ports on the MacBook or the cables.
I tried restarting both the iPad and the MacBook, and it still won't sync.
The iPad charges off the wall adaptor and when the cable is first plugged into the MacBook comes up with the charging screen, so it doesn't look like the iPad connector is broken.

Any suggestions on how to get them to sync?
Thanks,
Frank

Hi All,

I have exactly the same problem having transferred my information from my iMac to my new Macbook Pro.

It actually synced this morning before I left home on the Macbook Pro, but now it does not recognize any of my devices.

I actually followed the tips on the site and even installed an upgrade (iTunes 10.0.1) for iTunes to no avail.

Someone kindly help out. Now we are two in this situation, who knows who else is having the same issue.

Hi,

I have the same problem since I upgraded my OS from 10.5 to 10.6. Both my iPad and iPhone 4 are no longer detected by iTunes. I uninstalled iTunes and removed the Apple Mobile Device as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747 and that worked fine. both devices were detected and sync. However, the same problem came back the next day. I followed the same steps and once again I could sync. As you would have guessed, today it is no longer detected... looking for a permanent solution
