Suddenly "Could Not Find The Network XXX"

iTouch 2nd Gen; iOS 4.0.2

Everything was running fine, update to 4.0.2 done a while back with no issues. Then today, after recharging, I'm getting the "Could Not find the Network XXX" error message.

All other Macs and PCs running fine, router (Linksys E3000) running fine, cable modem running fine.

Tried the "Reset Network Settings" under General, but to no avail.

For some reason iTouch cannot find my network.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Next I would try resetting your iPod:

Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Thank you for your peppy reply.

Here's what I did to fix the issue.

Updated to 4.1 (no change)
Reset the system as you suggested (no change)

Frustration sets in . . .

Tried a couple more times to set up the wireless; finally the settings "took", i.e. my network settings were saved, but still no connection.

Entered the network detail and manually entered the DNS from my router.

Once I did that the network received an IP from the router and I was good to go!

Thank you for your help.
