Safari won't open Earthlink webmail login... works fine on Firefox

ERROR:

Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “ https://webmail.earthlink.net/wam/login.jsp?redirect=%2Fwam%2Findex.jsp&x=197870 2912&x=-12601147”. The error is: “Operation could not be completed. Operation not permitted” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:1) Please choose Safari > Report Bugs to Apple, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

Hi and welcome...

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.

Click: Show Cookies

Delete all earthlink related cookies.

Now open a Finder window select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder. Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.

Relaunch Safari.

If that didn't help, in Safari / Preferences - Advanced click *Change Settings* next to Proxies.

That will prompt the Network pane in System Preferences. Make sure none of the boxes on the left under: *Select a protocol to configure* are selected. If any boxes are checked, deselect, click OK.

Relaunch Safari and try Earthlink.

STILL NO LUCK!!!

PS... I tried everything but after deleting cache... (I think I erased the whole cache... not just earthlink...) there was no apple.safari.com file in my cache folder... did I delete too many caches???
