Instalation problems Age of Empires II Gold Edition for Mac

When I try to install I get the same message. Can you please tell me what you did to get it to work?

I have a similar problem. I have Age Of Empires II Gold Edition and had it installed on my current iMac (which is about a year old). I played the game numerous times on this iMac, but when I went to play it the other day, it won't load the disc. I uninstalled the game and then tried to reinstall and it still won't recognize the disc. It will try and "spin up" the disc, but will eventually spit it back out. I have had this disc for a couple of years, however it is in very good condition and played on this iMac until just a few days ago. I've also noticed problems with Railroad Tycoon 3 for the Mac. Both of these games are in great condition.

Any idea why that computer isn't recognizing the games now? I have been on the phone w/Apple for several hrs. and they state they can't find anything wrong with my computer. Suggestions? Solutions?

I just started having the same problem with some of my older games and am trying to narrow down the culprit... Did you check the date of your last software update and compare it with the first date on your crash logs? There was a security update on November 10th that might have done it.

Can you tell me what you did to fix it? I get the same thing and it's driving me nuts!!!!

Well friends, the thing that fixed my iMac was simply having the hard drive replaced. It appears that one of the optic drives (we believe the one that lets your computer read CDs) was bad. Thank God for Apple Care. This iMac is only about 15 mos. old.

Now, everything appears to be working fine.

Now I need to get my external hard drive (Time Machine) back up and running. Having problems there now. Soon, I'll be calling Apple Care.
