I use Photobooth on the Imac to record small videos and they playback just fine when I use the quicktime player, but when I upload it to youtube or vimeo, the video moves regular speed but the audio is in extra slow motion as if the audio has been stretched out or something. I have read that it has something to do with frames per second. I thought converting it would work but when i uploaded the video file to convert it, i noticed that the Frames per second was only 15. Ive used photobooth before to upload videos and it worked fine.....does anyone know what the problem is?
Welcome to Discussions, loose bills
I don't know what is wrong, but here are some things you can try to see if they fix your problem. If one item doesn't correct your problem, try the next, etc.:
(1) Make sure your software is up to date. Then restart your Mac and record a new test clip. Upload the test and play it back to see if the problem is solved.
(2) Use a different app to record.&ensp:If you are using Snow Leopard, try QuickTime (v.10.x.) You can also try iMovie.
(3) Ensure you are uploading correct file types and using compatible audio compression settings.
For YouTube, I use mp4 with default settings and have had no problem like you describe.
Go to this page:

Click "
Other uploading issues"
In that expanded list, click"
Audio out of sync" to see:
Out-of-sync sound is usually the result of using an audio codec that our system doesn't support. We're always adding new ones, but if this happens to your video, you can try re-encoding it with a different audio compression. We recommend MP3 audio for best results.
For YouTube videos, use
ONLY files that conform to their suggestions:

I do not use vimeo, but this vimeo Help page says they prefer MP4:
http://vimeo.com/help/compression
When you upload to vimeo, use settings vimeo recommends.
(4) Try a different uploader:
For vimeo:

For YouTube:

(5) If you need to post back for other ideas, tell us
which iMac you use, what Mac OS and browser you use, paste a link to one of your files that exhibits the problem, and tell us which filetype and codec you used on the file you uploaded. We will try to offer more specific suggestions based on the details in your response.
