Final Cut Pro 7 Serial Number does not work

I assue you, nothing was perpetrated by Apple during the recent ProApp updates. You can usually download them as a stand alone installer instead of getting them as an automatic script.

I'm having the same problem and its really aggravating. I have entered the correct serial number so many times my fingers are numb, and it keeps telling my I've entered it incorrectly. Is there any way around this stupid gatekeeper?

I understand your frustration, lots of us do. Unfortunately, this thread is a good example of what we typically see around here. People come in, ask for help, but never return to tell us if they found a solution and tell us what it was. If the OP had done that, you'd have found it in your search.

FCP serial number madness is a popular topic this weekend. Only suggestion I have is to continue monitoring the threads and searching other FCP forums. You can do everyone a huge favor by coming back and telling us how you solved this problem.

I had the very same problem and I think it was Tom Wolsky who suggested using, "Software update", when I did this it updated normally to 7.0.3
