"Loading Content from Library" takes a long time, is this normal?

I've got the same thing going on with my ATV2. I select my computer>then Movies>then it just loads...and loads...and loads. I left it load overnight and still loading. ***?? Granted I have like 500+ movies & 17k songs but it shouldn't take that long. This is just crazy!

I just got off the phone with an AppleCare tech and we got it all figured out. You will have to do a factory restore, so all of your settings will be lost but it will only take like 5 mins to get all of that plugged back in.

Go to Settings>General>Reset>Restore. It will take about 3-5 mins to go through the restore porcess but it will be WORTH IT!! If this works, please come back and post that. Good luck!

Also, unplug your internet, router and apple tv and let it all reboot. Mine was lagging at first, but after unplugging it all and plugged it back in, it worked fine.

I too had this issue. The ATV kept getting 'hung' up and said it would be ready in 167 minutes, etc. I tried lots of things including switching to ethernet cable and changing the address thingie as mentioned above. The following however has worked for me EVERY time: Settings>Network>Apple TV>STOP LOADING. When you go back and try to load it again, it should work.
