How to disable "remote control" on my new iMac?

When I used the remote control of my TV, my iMac goes tofront row.... I am trying to locate the pref to disable remote control.

Hi fredericlang

Go to: System Preferences > Security > General tab and check the box Disable remote control infrared receiver.

When you get to the screen Dennis points you to, the option may be grayed out.
If so, click the lock icon in the lower left and supply the admin password. Then the options become available.
