Someone sent me an email and i can't delete it. When i highlight the email and click delete, the delete button turns into "undelete." If i click on it again, it goes back to "delete" and email is still in my inbox. How can i get rid of this email once and for all?

Hi again, Use your Browser to goto the Mail Server using the Webmail & delete it there.

If you still have problems try this...

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.

Move this Folder to the Desktop...

Move this file to the Desktop...

    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index

If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...

I have the same problem with two messages I can't delete, can't open, can't move. They seem to be permanently stuck in my inbox.

I tried your suggestions and none worked. Is there a way to delete my entire mail inbox?

This worked for me. Select your Inbox, go to Apple Mail's menu, and select Rebuild Mailbox.

I found an easy way to delete the message, Highlight the message, and go to "cut" on the edit menu. It goes away, never to return.
