iPad notes application syncing to PC.

Why can't the Notes on iPad be synced to a location on a PC as standalone ASCII text files?

I do not use Outlook on my PC, I do not want to sync to my gmail, and I don't have a mac to sync them to. I want them as a collection of text files.

When I tick 'Sync notes with' in iTunes, the only option is Outlook. How stupid is that? I don't even have Outlook installed so why can't it sync to an accessible folder?

I have made hundreds of quite long notes using the iPad Notes application and I can't get them off the iPad. And clearly I do not want to email them to myself one by one.

I though Apple was supposed to be ahead of the game. How simple would it be to have the notes sync as text files to some identified location on my PC.
