Sound not working properly on Ipod Touch

I am having problems listening to music on my Touch. Sometimes music comes out of one earphone, sometimes both, sometimes quietly. When I try moving the jack around sometimes it goes back to normal but only temporarily. I have tried another pair of headphones but the same problems occur again.

Please help.

If the iPod is still in its warrantee period I would make an appointment at an Apple Genius Bar and discuss it with them.

I have noticed the same problem with my iPod Touch 4th Gen. Only a few days old, plugged in included headphones and noticed that when I was walking around with it in my pocket the sound cuts out from either channel. I jiggle the plug and the sound returns with a little crackling. It is a problem that occurs often enough to be more than an inconvenience.
