No - next sentence after that ;)

Once deleted, your iPhone will rebuild the "Recordings" folder on the phone, nice and clean with nothing in it to cause the same hang up. Again, to put the old memos back on your phone, (remember they're now in iTunes), add them to your "Voice Memos" playlist in iTunes and sync it.

Sorry dude, that doesn't help whatsoever. You've just listed the way to do it that's in the iphone manual. This is not what happened to most of the people here. They including me tried that. I saved about 50 recordings out of 184 of them that way. Other recordings weren't even in the recordings folder on iphone. There was about a 200kb .mov file which didn't do jack s*it. I'm still ******, and apple is still not responding.

Hey merkel - you need someone to get mad at - cool - since apple's not responding then pick me for trying to help you ;)

It's obviously a bug. Forget a out the mov file, (that's causing your problem - its creation is the bug that messes everything up in the first place), find your other recordings with iexplorer or whatever else you have that will get you into the file structure of your iPhone, and recover them to your computer. Lots of posts here about the different locations and/or methods people have used to find them. Then, "fix" your recording folder on your iphone by deleting it.

It ***** that you've got to go in to your iPhone and muck around in there, but it is what it is. good luck.

No, it ISN'T WHAT IT IS.  Apple charges a premium and we gladly pay it for things that *JUST WORK*, intuitively.  This ridiculous, steaming pile of nonsense has been festering for **OVER 2 years** at least.  WHO THE !@%^&*( tests this !@%^&* at Apple?  This is the nonsense you expect from a Windows box, not an iOS device!!!

It should work, PERIOD.  Any of you happy with some half-baked workarounds should be JUST AS MAD AS HECK!

Send feedback and maybe the dingbats at Apple who made this app (probably long gone, which is why this app is such broken trash, but either way, Apple should be ASHAMED!):

    NO EXCUSES!

Sorry man, but I did all of that, went and saw and there were only 50 of the listed 184 recordings in those folders and actually anywhere else in the iphone. So they must be in the system somewhere or were most likely lost during the process of conversion some minutes after they were made which would mean they are lost forever. I would rather not believe the second option but since apple is again not responding I have no clue what to do. Two freakin' years and they can't even issue a statement about it. F**k apple, this really is inexcusable.

Please do as Mattkinnj said and use apple feedback to write to them people. If we write to them in numbers maybe they'll do something instead of just lay back and enjoy Steve Jobs's hard made money.

I agree that it should work and that it's apple's fault, no doubt. Merkel, can you play all your memos from your phone? What about doing a manual backup from iTunes, and then using a program like file juicer to search that backup for audio files? M4A, WAV and MOV?  Of you backup regularly with iTunes, (as opposed to or in addition to iCloud), you could search previous backups for your memos.

No I can't play all my memos from my phone even though they and their durations are listed inside the voice memos program. I can play random files. Some recent some old but when I try to play the ones that don't work I press play and nothing, literally nothing happens.

I've never used File Juicer, I've installed about 4-5 different other iphone sweep programs like I mentioned earlier but how do you know that this would work?

Worked! Yes the key is disconnecting and reconnecting after you've made the iTunes > Preferences > Devices > iPhone > check 'Prevent iPods, IiPhones, iPads from synicing automatically'

    shocking silence from Apple.

Any insights about iOS 6 resolving this issue?

The software team may have maps front and center for immedite fix. But this audio file glitch has been around a long time.

    Hi,

I've found a quick fix while they continue to ignore this glitch. You don't really need to do any of the suggested tasks here other than check "Manually manage music and videos" This appears to allow you to edit information on the contents in your iPhone. You then go into the voice memos playlist on your iPhone/iTouch and you right click the file, and click "get info"

Afterwards, Change the category of the file to ANYTHING but "Voice memos" and perhaps even add it to one of your playlists.

This should fix your problem. It did for me anyway...

I've tried it, it doesn't help.

That solution has been talked about here as much as witchcraft in the middle ages. No offense, it's just that no viable solution seems to be available until those ******** from apple finally acknowledge this forum and this message board and fix this god **** ****. If the ios6 had happened earlier I  would've known never to entrust to apple to record anything of mine cause they're as unreliable as a kid on a motorcycle with no helmet on.

Just spent literary over 2 hours in attempt to sync my 2 (each one hour long Voice Memos) from my iMac.

Did every possible suggested in this loooong topic, still i  wasn't able to get my memos into iTunes!

Finally i have capitalised and installed 3rd party app, iExplorer and heureka! Event the demo mode (you dont have to pay for it) let you browse easily through you media and drag-drop function will get you voice memos whenever you want!
