Feb 13, 2013 10:25 AM in response to Bedonby FeelMyBass,Not sure what's up with that Bedon ... never seen that before, but guessing it may indicate some sort of corruption or partial transfer ??
Can you still play the voice memos on your phone? If so, I could only think of trying to change the identifying attributes on those files so as to force iTunes to "re-recognize" them. Try anything - give them a different category, maybe even trim a second if you can.
Hope that helps

Dec 2, 2015 7:36 AM in response to anneravenby userremoved,Got this working eventually for my 3GS. Once synched to your computer, right click on each voice memo track and choose "Get Info" then the 'Other' tab. Change 'media kind' to audiobook for each and it synchs no problem back to your phone. They show all together as 'Voice Memos' and you can play them separately as you would a chapter in a book. WE SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO DO THIS APPLE!!!!!

Feb 20, 2013 1:14 AM in response to userremovedby john_job,I bump myself:
This is the definitive, freeware, solution:
iExplorer, formerly iPhone Explorer, lets you access the files on any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer

Feb 20, 2013 5:30 AM in response to john_jobby MattKinNJ,If you're going to bump, BUMP RIGHT:
Apple charges a premium and we gladly pay it for things that *JUST WORK*, intuitively. This ridiculous, steaming pile of nonsense has been festering for **OVER 2 years** at least. WHO THE !@%^&*( tests this !@%^&* at Apple? This is the nonsense you expect from a Windows box, not an iOS device!!!
It should work, PERIOD. Any of you happy with some half-baked workarounds should be JUST AS MAD AS HECK!
Send feedback and maybe the dingbats at Apple who made this app (probably long gone, which is why this app is such broken trash, but either way, Apple should be ASHAMED!):
NO EXCUSES!
[...and NO third-party solution or file manipulation voodoo should be needed!]

Feb 23, 2013 3:07 AM in response to MattKinNJby john_job,I completely agree with you.
But I have no time to discuss with Apple.
I prefer to kinda soft-hack their device and rip what i need.

Feb 23, 2013 7:15 AM in response to john_jobby MattKinNJ,In the time it took you to bump yourself and reply that you had no time, you'd have had time to fill-out one feedback form:
If you can't be bothered to tell them, why should Apple be bothered to fix it?
Anyone who has posted here and NOT sent at least one feedback directly to Apple should be ashamed.

Feb 23, 2013 7:54 AM in response to MattKinNJby john_job,It's wonderful... now the problem is me? Or anyone who [...] should be ashamed ?!?!
Shoudn't Apple be aware on herself, moreover after years of this discussion (145.000 views!), of this problem?
Or do we have to patiently fill precisely a form for the **** fix to come?
And in the meanwhile shouldn't I write down a quite simple workaround that 100% works?
It's full of people that keep writing "Ok this worked for me, maybe not for you: Trim that, rename the other one, connect the phone while it's turned off then turn it on having a thumb up in your nose in the meanwhile and MAYBE it COULD work" and I am the problem?

Feb 25, 2013 3:13 AM in response to MattKinNJby catkfr,+1 having issues with voice memos (latest one not available in itunes - iexplorer worked for me)
I completed the feedback fill-out. Hope others will too and that apple will work on this bug.

Mar 1, 2013 5:04 PM in response to Athelas loraiel Croatiaby Londonlucem,I'm in the same position. I'm experiencing mental anguish about not being able to transfer a series of voice memos from December 2012 and January 2013. The memos are conversations with my father in hospital, dying. Today I've read about the Trim Memo approach but I can't seem to get that to work.

Mar 29, 2013 10:21 AM in response to Londonlucemby AndroidUser,This $#|+ suks so bad. Apple never got the sync right. Oh f@$& it, they are not getting anything right.
What is their f@$&ing problem to let us use it as a drive.
A$$0les.

Mar 29, 2013 10:26 AM in response to AndroidUserby AndroidUser,I have at minimum 20 good recordings on the device that I can not afford to loose. Now I can not sync those voice memos. Cant wait to get my 2 years contract to get over.
No wonder why Apple is sitting on its funeral pile.

After years of frustration with being forced to use the abysmally designed iTunes to accomplish simple tasks like moving Voicememos from my iPhone to a hard disk, I have found two solutions:
1. An app called iExplorer. I'd call it brilliant except that all it does is what the Apple OS ought to have enabled from day one: gives you a tree view of all the files on your iPhone, allowing you to move them back and forth at will.
2. I got an Android.

Wow: can't believe Apple removed the app name from my post and probably the post from Apple_Software_Is_Riding_on_Its_Laurels
There's a bug: it's a pain, but it can happen. People are stuck because of this, turn to the Apple Support Communities for a solution. There is no solution from Apple, the community provides workarounds.
Up to then, one could at least argue that it's because of Apple that the availability of the workaround is known.
And then, someone within Apple decides it's better to censor this information discreetly. Without any explanation, that is both unacceptable and irrespectful and in my opinion bad business.
The app that was useful to me was: I E X P L O R E R from macroplant
