May 2, 2013 1:15 PM in response to Xaero182by AlexOslo,Thanks Xaero182 it worked. I repeat your method for the people.
Trim the memo:
- press the blue arrow (right side of the memo)
- press "Trim Memo"
- drag the right end of the yellow bar slightly to the right, so you just trim a couple of seconds
- press "Trim Voice Memo"
- Sync the device

May 8, 2013 10:25 PM in response to A.Dessìby KRAZYNATE,Hey crunchie1967,
This was happening to me as well. I found that in addition to checking the "include voice memos" in sync music box; you also must check the "voice memo" box in genres. Once both those boxes were checked I completed the sync and my voice memos showed up in itunes. Hope this Works

May 8, 2013 10:37 PM in response to KRAZYNATEby tfong010veryunhappy,I have given up on all this and had no choice but to download a third party software - trial version. It worked right away. I spent 1 hour on the phone with Apple and spoke to 5 different people. I am losing hope quickly in this company.

Now it worked to me!!

May 25, 2013 12:28 PM in response to marianagvilarby larrybird2004,I used the trick of Trimming mentioned by Alex Oslo in the Voice Memo app itself, as well as ensured every box for Voice Memo was checked in the various categories in iTunes (including scrolling down to where it is also shows up in Genres). Additionally, I made sure that the right box was check in "Artists" in the music Syncing menu. The voice memos are recorded with the artist name being your iDevice's name (e.g. "Mike's iPod").
When I did the trimming one file at a time though, I didn't have to trim off anything. Just clicked the Trim button.

May 25, 2013 8:17 PM in response to Merkelby tfong010veryunhappy,I finally found a program that works. Its just a sample program so I used it to copy the one file that I was trying to get off. Its called Iexplorer. It seems to use its own interface to see all the files on your phone.
I also had it out with the customer support because I told them I dont see a reason why I need to use a third party software when my phone is not jailbroken and everything is standard. They kept calling it a corrupt file. I told them if it was a corrupt file there would be no way for me read it with the third party app. In the end they assisgned a customer relation person and gave me a 100USD voucher.

May 25, 2013 9:31 PM in response to tfong010veryunhappyby bjprc,That program was covered earlier on. You will find with it stuff you will even not imagine, sitting and hiding in your iphone, such as old voice mails. Obviously all nothing to do with corrupt files etc. Now the manufacturer here is getting nervous and wants us to be closely censored. So, bad luck as I will post the tips on my own site. Question is still, when will Apple simply SOLVE the problem? Then we would not need all this blabla.

Jun 11, 2013 11:47 PM in response to anneravenby KD1Karma,I tried several suggestions listed here with Zero luck. Somewhere in my searching the iVoid of information, I happened across a suggestion to try a FREE program for those of us poor souls using iPhones/iPads while trying to sync using an old PC & iTunes ain't finding the voice memo files on the darn iPhone. It worked like a champ! WWW.SynciOS.com. It's almost 3am, but FINALLY I have ALL the voice memos backed up AND I didn't have to trim anything down to do it. I can see them everywhere and play them from the backup files. Give this a try. Good Luck & Godspeed!

Jul 17, 2013 3:22 PM in response to rhodel68by louislomax,rhodel68's solution on 1/22/13 works. Thank you.
Once we make the conversion, it is also helpful to sort our Songs by 'Date Added,' as this will group our new mp3 versions together, so we won't have to examine each file's type.

Jul 21, 2013 9:10 PM in response to anneravenby Lolomite,I was having difficulty transfering long VM files, and per other's recommendations, I used iFunBox (free) to get the file to my computer. It transfered as a .mov file, which I converted to mp3 using ALL2MP3, also free.

Jul 26, 2013 8:47 AM in response to Sagalby Bienestario,After reading all posts, this one was the solution. I first checked the reputation of the program... then I downloaded the demo and I was able to retrieve my voice memos. It looks like next iTunes update needs to fix this bug...
Sagal wrote:
I have tried every solution listed in this topic - unfortunately none of them worked I have a 46 minute voice memo of an interview which I needed to transfer to my computer. In the end, I found this software, PhoneView, which offers a free 7-day trial (no credit card needed or anything) and lets you transfer up to 10 voice memos. There doesn't seem to be a size limit because my 46min voice memo (20MB in size) transferred instantly. http://downloads.ecamm.com/PhoneView.zip
Not really a long term solution, but if, like me, you are desperate to get one big file to your Mac quickly, then this is perfect.
